Merran Keil is an Auckland barrister based at Acacia Chambers. She holds an LLB and BCom and has practised for nearly 30 years across financial-markets regulation, commercial litigation, insolvency and financial disputes.
Prior Experience
Merran previously served as a founding senior solicitor in the Financial Markets Authority litigation team. That experience gives her direct insight into how the FMA investigates and pursues enforcement action — which she now applies in advising and representing clients facing regulatory scrutiny.
Her background also includes experience in insolvency practice and complex financial disputes, giving her a broad foundation across the areas in which she now practises as a barrister.
Practice
Merran acts for solicitors seeking counsel, directors, financial service providers, businesses, insurers, creditors, insolvency practitioners and individuals in matters requiring specialist advocacy and practical commercial judgment. She acts for clients throughout New Zealand.
